Guest guest
Red yeast rice IS a statin, it is just not a pharmaceutical statin. And big pharma was successful in getting the FDA to remove the lovastatin from the red yeast rice to reduct the competition for their products. In the linked article there is mention that the red yeast rice continues to have benefits. http://heartdisease.about.com/b/2009/06/18/red-yeast-rice-still-effective.htm m O
Guest guest
Hey , thanks for the information. I had been on Lipitor for a short period of time and of course had extra pain associated with taking it and increases CPK level. I had looked in to RYR but since it was still a Statin I was cautious in trying it. Has anyone here tried RYR and if so have you had any luck? Also what kind do you take if it works. Thanks
