The success of the Walgreens Distribution Center should be the subject of a

story on the ABC " Nightly News " tonight, an County spokeswoman said.

In December, crews with ABC " Nightly News " came to to film a story

about the Walgreens Distribution Center, County spokeswoman, Angie

Stringer said. Ms. Stringer said that barring any breaking news, the story is

scheduled to air at 6:30 p.m..

The story is a feature on how Walgreens' staff has trained residents with

special needs and shown that they can work alongside other employees. About 200

of the center's 450-member work force are people with special needs.

In 2006, the 700,000-square-In 2006, the 700,000-square-<WBR>foot facility

was opened in , making it the first of its kind, implementing new

software that uses touch screens and icons to make the jobs easier. The center

is

located in Alliance Park, an industrial center off S.

Walgreen's invested $175 million in the distribution center.

" This distribution center will be the model for future Walgreens

distribution centers for because of its success, " Ms. Stringer said.
