Jean....we got Gareth (19 y/o) his own cell phone in Nov. because he had been bugging me for a year to get one for him....like . His has got the I C E buttons in the front that we programmed for Mom/Dad, , and PSU Lifelinks. He is learning how to go into his 'Contacts' to call his friends, teachers, and relatives, too. He does use his and is very proud of having it in his pocket. I hope gets to like his phone, too. How old is he and how is his speech? I have my own phone set to a separate ring for when Gareth calls. I know to 'jump on it' and grab the cell when I hear that ring. One word of precaution, though, is that Gareth has 'lost' his phone several times. Now, I know not to leave anywhere without asking " Do you have your cell phone in your pocket? " He takes it out to talk or show someone and lays it down instead of putting it back into his pocket. Gareth tries to be so independent and will call someone on a whim, but then, hands the phone over to me (not knowing who he is talking to) because he is stuttering so bad that he can't get out what he is trying to say.
