Wow!! Thank you all so much for the birthday wishes for Aidan. I want to

share something huge that happened today.

Aidan HATES getting his haircut. It has been about 18-24 months since we

were last in a haircut place. It was getting progressively worse - I would

have to hold him on my lap with my legs wrapped around his legs, and my

hands clutching his with my arms somehow trying to hold him in a bear hug so

he wouldn't get away. And the language spewing from that boy's mouth made

the air blue and my face purple!! Then the main hairdresser would get ready

and we would need 2 other adults to help - those limbs get loose and no one

or nothing is safe!!

Well, my older son and my hubby both needed haircuts today - my son will

only go to my hairdresser so we went to that salon. We were able to convince

Aidan to come in just to watch - seriously - that was my original intent.

Then he starts asking to go to Pizza Hiut " after haircut " . So I agreed,

spoke to my hairdresser and we waited. He sang " On Top of Busgetti " and " Oh

my Darlin Crementine " to entertain the other customers and staff while we

waited. Then it was his turn.

He held back a bit but quickly decided it would be ok. I just helped him up

onto the chair, Courtnee put the drape on him (not too fussy about that!)

and I knelt down on the floor, held his hands and we started singing " If

you're happy and you know it " . He got the most amazing haircut without a

tear, a yelp, a scream, a kick or a swear word!!

I'm so proud I'm still getting teary!!!

Yippeee - he's a teenager!
