Guest guest
From what I read it does have effect and from my understanding Viagra won't be able to solve the problem for you. Anyone has more info on this? Minh Vo
Guest guest
They have medicine for that. :-) Sometimes good to have your testosterone levels checked. Adding T can help improve energy, outlook as well as sex.

Guest guest
I am a 59 y o with CMT Type 1 and have started to experience ED over the past two years. a period during which my CMT has without doubt progressed. I found Viagra was ineffective but after discussions with my doctor have tried 5mg Cialis daily + 10mg before intercourse and this has been effective. Someone has suggested trying Uprima which rather than acts on the blood vessels in the Penis actually improves the message sending from Brain to Penis! Has anyone tried this? My GP is very reluctant to let me try it for some reason.
Guest guest
Matt, Yes I have , But with my insurance its $90.00 for 5 pills of any of the ED pills. They work some of the time.So when they do , it has to be quick. And they make my face very red and hot.Someone told me there is a vacum pump covered by Medicare, the cost is around $500.00 I hope this helps. Guest guest
, I am CMT atypical.. so a mix of symtoms but the ED is one of them. First you've got to remember that no medication will work everytime, all the time.. reason being that the med will do it's part but your head [ brain ] has to be in the right frame of mind.. if the mood's not right or the attraction is absent the best meds in the world won't cut it. Personally, Viagara or Cialis has never been very reliable for me.. what has worked quite effectively has been Caverject [ Pfizer] injectible.. so it's not for the faint of heart but boy it's does the job. Write me if you want anymore info. Take good care, Mark
Guest guest
In my experience, which impacts my opinion and without medical confirmation, oh boy yes it can. I experienced a severe drop in testosterone long before my CMT diagnosis which has now been followed by a loss of sensation. Neither testosterone supplementation nor ED treatments were of any help. I attribute that to the fact that neither of those treatments are for CMT symptoms. (Yes, I have seen Cialis posts, interesting) I don't understand those who are stating as fact that it is not the CMT. CMT effects all of us differently with the one common link being nerves that don't work like they are supposed to.
Guest guest
I was very interested in your response to the questions about ED. It has taken me over a year to get my doctor to accept that my ED and CMT are related, primarily I believe because Viagra/Cialis are free in the UK to patients with neurological conditions. so expensive for the state over a few years. I am also convinced I suffered a large reduction in testosterone over a very short period the symptoms being loss of sex drive, upper body strength, weight gain around the waist and night sweats. I had the tests but the Dr insist I am within normal range but I know my own body and I know this is incorrect. As I said they have to know your previous normal level to appreciate the change. I have had a very high sex drive since my teens which makes the current situation very difficult to cope with. Did you notice your testosterone levels drop quickly? Any related symptoms? Can any Doctors in the group comment as to why the two things might be linked? Have any wives worked out a coping strategy?
Guest guest
My experience is a little different. Again, no doctor has ever confirmed what I am saying, so just my opinions based on 46 years in this this body. I think I have always had low testosterone but that it bottomed out around age 38. Unlike your experience, I never had much of a sex drive. I began seeing articles about effects of low testosterone and making connections between my symptoms those in the articles. Attempts to treat the testosterone issue came several years before my CMT diagnosis. Looking back, it is all likely wrapped up together. Re: E.D. Guest guest
In my experience, exercise will boost testosterone, or at least help with ED problems, for, even though I am dead tired after 60 minutes of private yoga training, ED isn't a problem on these evenings. Guest guest
While I do not suffer from ED, I am being treated for low testosterone which is actually related to exercise. Endurance training causes my testosterone to plummet. Supplementing with topical testosterone through Endocrinology consultation. I am the opposite of the Yoga/exercise increasing testosterone levels .
