Ah... I was going to ask you about that but you've just answered it. Same here.

They look so pretty :)

I am dying to taste them!

She might do better with flowers, too.  I've never seen a little girl who

didn't like flowers.  May pick them off for Mom and at a shorter length that

you would need to put in a vase.  Float them on a plate with a bit of water.

She is just a little young.  It may be better when it is time to take off fully

grown vegetables.  You can show her what to take off and let her do it if she

can.

My grandparents got me involved in gardening from a young age, so it would be

nice to get my daughter involved. She's a bit of a pest at the moment, into

everything. It will be nice when she calms down a bit. She likes to watch me

harvesting my sunnies and pea shoots so maybe when our outdoor tomatoes are

ready we can start to encourage her a bit more. Right now though, soil is for

picking up and throwing!!!

while she is little! Let her HELP you...then she won't be so inclined to be

curiolus about the pots! My daughter (now 17) has been " helping " me with my

indoor gardening since she was about 2, so your timing is great-take advantage

of it! Talk about good bonding time! My most prized moments with my daughter

were having her learn to cook and garden along side of me from the time she was

big enough to stand on a stool...she was also much more apt to eat the things

she helped to grow and cook!

I like fresh peas and frozen peas.  I don't care for canned peas or at least

not as much as the fresh ones.  I like them with macaroni salads for the color

and the fresh taste. I like them alone too.  I can't eat them well with a fork

though and may have to use a spoon.

I am trying to figure out what peas to get as seeds to plant.  Maybe I need to

get peas for sprouting and then plant some of them.  I haven't tried them that

way.

My green beans that I planted are about 6 or 7 " tall now.  Those I am raising

outside in a container.  the tomatoes have come up about a couple inches so far

but they sure took awhile, but certainly not like the flowers.  I think there

is a problem there.  I need to put another shelf unit together to get them down

lower so I can see them.  I only have one of the little plastic cups removed

and the rest are still on there.  I even put the reflector on that one since

they were not doing well and I thought they might not be getting enough light.

, how often do you change your lights in your AG's?  I am picking off

lettuce leaves when they are 2-3 " or so long.  Looks a little skimpy though.

Can't imagine getting enough off them for a complete salad.  It is a nice

addition to a salad or sandwich though.

Yes, but if you grow your own peas, you will have the seeds for your shoots!

The US Gov'ment takes bribes to look the other way. So the chemical companies

get away with a lot of things that are killing Americans

ew

Re: Look at this!!!!

As far as I'm aware GMO is not cool here in the UK, we don't grow GMO crops in

this country so any GMO's that get into the food chain are imported. Mainly used

in animal feeds. From the UK Defra (Department for Environemntal Food and Rural

Affairs),

'To ensure consumer choice EU law also requires any approved GM products to be

clearly labelled, including foods derived from GM crops that do not have a

detectable GM content.'

Something the US should be working towards, as I gather the US grows and uses A

LOT of GM soya amongst other GM crops. GM soya caused a public outcry here.

Scary indeed!

Looks like the doctors' would lose their licenses if they testify falsely.

This was an outright lie.  and then looks like they and the CEO would be placed

in jail.  This is crazy.

There is too much greed and selfishness among top CEO's anymore.  And so many

are just dishonest and sometimes are guilty of fraud on a regular basis.  Look

how many were in Ponzi schemes.  Looks like they would realize that they have

to fall eventually.

Hey Phyllis,

This is the l ink that was in the original post...

http://3rings.designerpages.com/2010/07/01/hyundais-kitchen-nano-garden/

I think this discussion has split up in discussing GMO's and HFCS. So I am

not sure which link or links you are looking for.
