Guest guest
Hi , YES! My son, , age 8 1/2, is a very noisy child especially as of lately. He is constantly making these odd noises that are hard for me to reproduce to explain to someone. It's a lot of uuuhhhh uuuuhhhh mmmmm etc... You are not alone. Guest guest
Maybe our kids are trying to drown out all the noise they > hear from us and their teachers? lol > > Carol > Trishasmom > She isn't typical, She's Trisha! > > I know this is in 's case as told by one of his OT who specializes with SI. She notices during our visits, that would begin doing his sound affects with his rocking and some twirl dance number only when he was around me, my talking was probably annoying, OT said my voice was high pitch for his auditory sensitivity. Guest guest
Yeah a does the Squilling noise- real high pitch, hurts your ears, my boys are like a stop your hurting my ears why do you do that. It's hard to explain to them why she does it. She gets us confinded in a car or at Walmart then starts. Needless to say we get noticed where ever we go. > Much of the time when he is stimming he is also " droning " almost like making " white " noise. Guest guest
Hi again It is literally non stop and often LOUD. Right now I am listening to Ahh Ahh uhhahh Ahhh eeeyuh you get the idea. It gets more intense when he is watching a favorite video. My little one is now imitating him.....sigh. I need some Motrin for my headache Lol. It is like a loud growl with Ahhhs and " eeeyuh " . He is very happy and otherwise acting like himself. He is reportedly doing this at school too. My hubby thinks this is a good thing and it may be a sign that some speech may occur in the near future....I'm not so sure this is the case or that it is a good thing. I'm sure some of your kiddos do this or have in the past... Any thoughts? > He has no words only a few sounds that mean things that only we would understand. He uses some PECs and has a couple signs that he does using our hands for assistance. He can use the IPAD Proloqo 2 Go program for choice making and for yes/no questions occasionally. > He is 5 and a half DS/ASD > Amy in CT mommy to Asher and >
