Guest guest
Caroline, There is no one brace for all of us with CMT. We all have different needs, whether no foot drop, foot drop, weak ankles/legs, etc. My advice is do NOT buy anything off the shelf or order on-line. You need to see an orthotist who can watch you walk and see what your needs are, then he/she will make recommendations and/or modifications on braces. Guest guest
It really does depend on where your weaknesses are. I had the Toe Off, but i broke them due to putting too much pressure on the plate down by the ankle from the way i walk and the way i get up from a seated position. I am considering the Blue Rocker When i looked into it, i found an orthotist who could order them. You have to provide a doctors prescription ( for insurance) and they can order it in your size so you can try them out and see if they work. You are not required to take them if they don't work. My advice is never walk out of an orthotists with braces unless you can walk in them. Kind of liking buying pants too small and saying you will diet to fit into them! This is from hard spent experience! Jackie Ypsilon? ToeOFF? Â BlueRocker? Â Hello, I am wondering which one is more suitable for CMT? Can I say the Ypsilon provides less support and thus I need to use my muslces more and thus delay losing my muscle strength? Might anyone please kindly provide some suggestions? Do you order the products on line and ship to your place? Do we need to give it a try to see how it fits or works before we purchase the products? Thank you very much. Please take care
