Guest guest
Hi Jennny, I am new to this list site. My name is Rob, I have CMT type 1a. Here is a subject I can participate in. I am worried about my children showing signs of CMT. I did go to that site to see the kiddie gait braces. It was interesting to see that they are made by the same people who make the Blue Rocker. Basically same brace, but in a child's size. I read somone elses post, that their child wore them out in 6 months. This is the problem with this brace. I have had 3 pairs of Blue Rockers, very disappointing in the stability they offer, the footplate is way too flimsy! I broke the first pair in 3 weeks, the second pair in one month, and the 3rd pair in a month as well. After you break the 3rd pair, they will no longer replace them under warranty. Also a word of warning. If anyone is thinking of trying them, read carefully the bottom of the footplate before you take them home, as there are warnings agaisnt certain activities. Certain activities that you cannot avoid.  It basically says " You Cannot Squat in them, Cannot bend down in them, and if you are going up steps, " You cannot step on the end of the step " , which is virtually impossible to avoid. If you do any of these warned against motions or activities, it can void the warranty. Like your kids , it did not give me ankle support either. I am currently researching for my next braces.
