hi, i am still new to this group, although i am finding out that i am NOT the

only one to have some of the symptoms that i am having, and although i wouldn't

wish any of this on anyone at all. i am happy to find out that i am NOT the only

one suffering, meaning that i am not as CRAZY as i felt i was...with the symptoms

that i am suffering, the drs here don't seem to " Believe " that i could have the

pain that i am having.

i  have a MRI scheduled for in the morning due to a serious pain in my left arm

and i don't have any reason as to why. i went to the regular dr last monday and

he said that he " thought " that it was from a neck injury, but i haven't had any

neck injury, although about a month or so ago i was suffering from severe neck

pain, i thought that it  was from the way i had slept or something, i even went

out and bought 2 different kinds of pillows to help alleviate the situation.

it did help a little.  with the neck but now my arm is in

EXTREME pain, and they done xrays last week and supposedly they didnt' see any

thing wrong, but there is something wrong or i wouldn't be in the pain that i

am in...and this has been going on for a little over 2 weeks continuosly. if

anyone has any suggestions i would greatly appreciate any advice.

i have been to the pain clinics here and have had the shots in my back and they

didnt' work at all. i have a degenerative disc disease as well, is this common

w/CMT?

i mean i don't know really.. Please if anyone has any advice i am all

ears....thanks so much in advance.

i really believe that i too may have fibromyalgia but drs here think that

you can't have more than 1 thing going on with you or they think you are

CRAZY! Please help if you can.

this sounds very similar to the pain my husband was experiencing and he ended up

needing to have 2 discs in his neck fused which after the surgery, all pain went

away. (he does NOT have CMT)

The MRI should show if this is the case

Tracey,

i could have written this post!

i have a similar situatuon going on. except i have been ahving difficulty

" controling " my arm also. sometimes the pain is unbearable in my neck area. i

just saw a new neuro in hopes that he will listen more to me, lol! so far so

good. he believes i have something more going on with my CNS and not just with

my PNS.

i had xrays done last week and they only showed scoliosis, which i suspected i

had as did my primary care physician. but they didn't show anything else. and to

reasure you the xrays wouldnt showany nerve 'stuff' ti will be the MRI that

shows that.

i am supposed to have MRI done on my brain cervical spine and my upper thoratic

spine. there are more things going on with me with my CNS and i wont go into

that right now because i am rushed and i don't think they apply necessarly to

your situation.(so please excuse any typing errors).

if you would like to know the otger stuff going on i dont mind sharing when i

dont have kids needing my attention.

but i am so hoping that they do this time. i am terrified of needles, so please

pray for me... will try to keep you updated..would love to chat sometime if you

are up to it? you can reach me here at my email address or find me on chat

at the same address.....barrytracey2001@...  take care and best of luck..

i have SO much more i could tell you about these drs but i don't have the time

this morning due to my appt. take care and GOD BLESS...tracey

Tracey,

You're going to need to find your own specialist for the two herniated discs. If

the epirdurals didn't work the first time they won't work again. You're in

immense pain. So was I. I found my own specialist in the spine, I had a fusion.

The doc was great, a pro at his work. Very caring, and yes, I was scared. But

every question I had, including dying on the table, was answered to my

satisfaction. And no pain now. I think I responded before to you about this. So

look through our Archives for the rest. I was not willing to be enslaved to

painkillers for pain when there was a surgical solution.

thank for responding to me,i know that you are right, and i have asked my dr

time and again to refer me to a specialist and with the insurance that i have i

have to have a referral, so i am just gonna have to stay on my dr. no matter

what. and i really do believe you are right about having it done before and not

working, b/c what i had done today hasn't seemed to even touch it, and i like

you am tired of being a slave to pain meds... so thanks again for

responding, take care and GOD BLESS :) ...tracey

My husband did epidurals, pain killers, chiropractor, and pain specialist. We

met with a fabulous neurosurgeon and almost immediately after surgery he no

longer had the pain that he was experiencing. He healed very quickly; within 3

weeks he was laying hardwood floor in our house ( i do NOT recommend this, but

he is stubborn)

He only wishes he didn't wait so long to have the surgery.

Find a neurosurgeon and if he feels you are a good candidate consider this. Of

course, get several opinions and try to find the best neuro in your area. If you

live near land or Florida i could give you recommendations.
