Guest guest
Gretchen I have to agree with you on this one. There are so many neurology disorders so even once CMT is diagnosed a lot of the professionals dont know how to deal with due to lack of experience. I was originally diagnosed in England by a neurologist who'd been " in the trade " for some years. I used to be asked would I be willing to examined by students taking their exams because at that time it was quite unusual. When I moved to Glasgow I found there were more educated professionals but this was because in this area its quite common. Even so knowledge can be patchy. Just reading the boards here, there are so many people and with so many types and who are all affected differently its a waste of time and energy getting angry with people who dont know even when you think they should. I have an appointment to my neurologist next month and have every intention of toddling along with with enough information to sink a ship - just in case! My experiences though are in the UK and the way things work are probably different in other countries though. regards Fiona Glasgow, Scotland
