We had yet another basketball game today, an hour+ away on the coast of Maine

(it's so beautiful there - even in winter!) The team went to Pizza Hut after

the game. I was about in a panic thinking, how am I going to keep from

eating the food! I had to wrestle him at church this morning when he got a

handful of cheetos during fellowship - managed to get them out of his hand

before he had any and quickly gave him his GF pretzels!

Anyway - Pizza Hut. Luckily I had packed a lunch box full of GF snacks and

some GF chicken nuggets I had made, just in case. He did really well even when

the pizza came to the table. He pointed to the empty little pizza plate meant

for him but I just told him to eat his chicken nuggets and he moved on. Shortly

before we left, I realized he had gottten ahold of my crust and had nibbled two

tiny bites of it! :( Not the end of the world but....

He did so well, I'm so proud of him. I told the kids we couldn't order

breadsticks, it just wasn't fair - he loves them so much. The big kids

understood but then Emma sat with her team and managed to ingest some of her

friends breadsticks! was jealous!

On the way home, I felt sort of sad for - it's one thing when you can

explain and the child understands but for - we ate at Pizza Hut last

month and he thoroughly enjoyed his breadstick then I'm sure he was wondering

what the heck Mom tonight! I felt bad and kind of sad on the way home but he

seems just fine. I made him a milkshake for a reward when we got home. Guilt!
