Dairy is one of the ones I have a hard time giving up but ALL my dairy is low

fat (or nut/rice milks). I am reading Dr Fuhrman.. I just got to his 6

week and saw the no dairy.. I cringed. Between the green smoothies, snacking on

the sprouts, salads I;m sure I was getting the 1lb raw. Also the fruit (again

with the smoothies and just plain fruit). The cooked I am moving toward. My

other problem with the diet is he has soy protein... I am not supposed to do soy

as it is a natural estrogen and I have a HUGE problem with blood clotting. I

have a bunch of Vegan cookbooks and am trying to find some vegetarian recipes as

well. I know anyone who tried say the black bean " meat " balls thought they were

my regular meatballs..they were tasty! I had not liked hummus that I had at

Greek restaurants but I found a recipe for roasted garlic, roasted red pepper

hummus that WAS OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!!!

So I think two things.. I might need to see what else I can do besides soy

(though I did have a tad of silken tofu in a carrot soup - but it was 1/3 cup

which was next to nothing...)I'm going to see if their is a YahooGroup for both

Vegetarian newbies and Dr Fuhrman's diet.

I should say that I know my elevated triglycerides is a heridarty condition

(Type IV Hyperlipidemia)I know I HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT! But even when I was thin

I had very HIGH triglycerides (one time they were off the chart).

Again thanks

month & go have your blood tested  again & see what happens!  Have you ever

heard of Dr Fuhrman? Eat to Live is one of the books he's written & he has

cured people of diabetes, heart disease, cancer ... all by eating a plant based

diet.  He recommends at LEAST 1 lb of raw veggies (lots of leafy greens) and 1

lb cooked veggies, no oils (or very very minimal), at least 4 fruits and nuts,

seeds
