Guest guest
Hi, everyone.. Hope everyone is getting ready for a wonderful Easter Holiday. Just wanted to update you all. Tori's thyroids came back great. Her FT4 is 1.36 and her TSH is 2.06. So I am figuring the behaviors we have been having have nothing to do with them. =( Anyway, Mom is messing with meds, and have not given her any in 2 days. Yesterday and today, so far, have been really good (with just small challenges). I could really be able to handle this kid if things would just stay this way. Guest guest
Cyndi: Please keep us posted. Liz Update The prayers are working. We finally have a diagnoisis. He has cellulitis again but they are trying to figure out what strain, like is it MRSAorRSA. That way they can makes sure he is on the right antibiotics. He face is no longer oozing and some of the swelling has gone done. He is still swelled, with redness, and an ugly black scab that looks like rotting skin. They are trying to make sure that does not get an abcess because if he does they will have to lance it.Thanks for the support and prayers. You all are great. Margaret, I feel for you all being up all night. They are trying on valuims. Not sure if I spelled it correctly with his Abilify. To calm him they used versad and he would go to sleep in like 5 minutes.Worked like a charm. But he cannot go home on that med that is why the switch to valuims. We will possibly go home by Sat. I hope. Cyndi B
Guest guest
Thank you so much for your updates on . I don't feel like I have gotten to know most of you as I am new to the group, but I do like to send up a prayer when I hear about our kids needs. I remember when has been in the hospital and it was a life-saver just to be able to communicate through email. Also, I have had issues with staph ever since I spent time with one of our foster babies in the hospital and my dermatologist suggested bleach baths (1/4 cup for a small amount of water and a 1/2 cup for a fuller tub) and it has rally made a difference - I haven't had an outbreak in over a year which is the longest I have gone. I just take one a couple of times a week as maintenance. She (the dermatologist) told me that she learned about this at a peds. conference so it would probably be safe, of course I would always check with my doc before doing anything, but it might be something to ask about for long term avoidance of this issue. Hope yu two are home soon. ('s mom, 9, DS-A) > > The prayers are working. We finally have a diagnoisis. He has cellulitis > again but they are trying to figure out what strain, like is it > MRSAorRSA. Guest guest
In our house we use betadine baths pretty often for the same reason. But bleach is MUCH cheaper. > Thank you so much for your updates on . Guest guest
Hi , Good to hear that the docs are aggressively treating this time. I pray he continues to get better. Guest guest
We also have dealth with MRSA- it is horrible and my thoughts are with also. Since MRSA is something that is likely to recur once you have an outbreak, our pediatrician recommended bleach baths for everyone in the family a couple of times a week, using antibacterial soap, and using antibiotic ointment twice a day for 10 days in the nostrils. I know how incredibly painful and horrible these infections can be, hopefully he will get well soon!
