Just got home from work a little bit ago. My 1:1 had a massive " meltdown "

and flipped. He wrestled with me, swatted, hit, and kicked me-then grabbed

hold of another aide (who is 70!) and got her in a headlock. Fortunately,

we are ok-just a little shook up-but as they were escorting me to the

nurse's office, I lost it. I started balling my eyes out, worrying about

. I HATE when he gets that way, because he CAN'T tell me what's wrong.

I know, and have reiterated to mom & dad since Monday that something is not

right. I really think he is getting sick....and then this.

Sorry, it just breaks my heart.

I'm ok, He's ok, and the other aide is ok. Just a bit sore!

Liz I hear your frustration in wanting to help your student and not being

able to help as he can’t tell you what is wrong. We are going through a

similar thing right now with and I feel so for him and those who work

with him. We are hoping a med change to begin will help. Glad you everyone

is OK.

Maybe he is getting sick. Seems like ' behavior gets worse right before he

gets sick, it is tough to tell since he can't tell us. We are working with

crazy photo sign language cards, but it does not always consistently work. I

think at times just gets sick and feels so rotten, then his person all

around gets this way.

I also used to be an aid for kids with autism, got to be too much since I also

had it at home. Just me though. I had to quit. I've always truly been an

artist and went back to my art work. Pays less but keeps my sanity.
