Guest guest
<<My son is the same way rips pages after he lets me read to him for a few minutes or seconds. >> Hi, Everyone....Jayla....why does he do it? I mean......is it in anger or excitement? Many times, I don't understand what people are saying when they read articles to me.....it's my autism, I guess. I have to see the words and read them myself. Does Jayla want to try to read or is he getting frustrated because he has no clue what you are saying? Just some ideas. Another reading hint that I strongly have recommended over the years is the closed caption on the TV. If your kid is watching a favorite cartoon, video, or Sesame street, etc., put on the closed caption and show them how to follow the words. Take care, Everyone. But once again that auditory sensory processing thing is tough with kids with dual dx. Due to the fact that it is not autism and it is not ds, it is dual in one person and I think the frustrations can get high. Sigh....this is an interesting topic and should be explored, ways to help these kids be able to read if they want to. Sarno > > **************Need a new ride?
