Dr. Capone told me that it was a blood pressure medication but that in small

doses controls impulsiveness. It also makes you really tired so we started it

yesterday because we have a 3 day weekend. He slept for a few hours today and

is really tired right now. he has to take 1/2 tablet 2x per day along with his

risperdal. Dr. Capone says it should slow him down, or give us just enough time

to react. He seemed more concerned with Jakes behaviors this past visit. Even

though Jake is doing really well with his cmmunication.

Re: Tenex

Hey what is this exactly and will it control hand and finder flicking and

hitting your face.

That is our concern. I am hoping that it gets better once he has had time to

adjust. it also acts like an appetite surpressant so that is good since the

Risperdal makes him eat like crazy.

  • 1 year later...

, Tenex was first used to treat high blood pressure. It is been used to

kids with ADHD and had some success. Here is some info on

posted for about a year. Our neurologist just perscribed Tenex for some of the

anxiety issues we are seeing with Lizi. We first tried an antidepressant

(imipremine?) and she got very sick from that. So, I'm really scared to put her

on this. Can anyone with experience about this drug please let me know their

thoughts about it?
