Guest guest
" Willow's Challenge " At the CMT SGL meeting in Vegas last weekend, Dave Hall, CMTA Executive Director, gave us a big challenge for each our support groups and the STAR initiative. On the flight home, I thought about this and how I wanted to involve everyone in . So here's my spin on the challenge. If all 2,318 members donated $5.00 toward STAR, we would raise $11,590. If all of us contributed $10 we would raise 23,180. If we ask 5 friends to give at $5 each we would raise an additional $69,540. If we ask 10 friends to give $10 we could raise $254,980. Today is a perfect time to start the challenge and end with the closing of Peripheral Neuropathy Week May 21. This gives us 2 months to " work it " ! Certainly a newsworthy story for your local media too! In addition, all members could save our change/coins every day and throw in a big jar labeled " Willow's Challenge " . (Family and friends could add their change to the jar too) At the end of Peripheral Neuropathy Week, add up our change, and donate to the STAR initiative. We CAN do it! We are on the threshold of treating and completely arresting a debilitating genetic disorder that is 6-7 million years old. It's an exciting time with the advent of the STAR Initiative and HTS (High Thorouput Sceening). Your participation in " Willows Challenge " will intensify CMT research and soon there will be " a world without CMT " . At the end of Peripheral Neuropathy Week, May 21 when writing a check to the CMTA, include a note that states " This donation is from " Willow's Challenge " for the STAR Initiative. Or simply put " Willows Challenge " in the note section of the check. Checks may be sent to the STAR Initiative at the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association 2700 Chestnut Street, Chester, PA 19013. Your gifting can also be made online at https://secure.charcot-marie-tooth.org/donate_350K.php where it says " In Honor Of " put " Willows Challenge " .
