Guest guest
Do you think it's acceptable to send a group email to the third grade teachers at the school will attend next year inquiring about the typical order of events for the school day? I'm trying to find out if there is a Morning Meeting or some sort of Share time with the teacher and students - calendar, etc... I want to know when they have all the specials, ie: library, music, PE, and art. I want to know when they typically have lunch. I'm trying to get a guage on a typical 3rd grade day to help me better plan for 's IEP. His Special Education Teacher knows nothing, I asked already. Thanks - Jayne
Guest guest
I would ask a thrid grade or one hwo has moved to fourth - you probably will get a better sense. The school may get really upset over your " interfering " with the school day. > > Do you think it's acceptable to send a group email to the third grade > teachers at the school will attend next year inquiring about > the typical order of events for the school day? > > I'm trying to find out if there is a Morning Meeting or some sort of > Share time with the teacher and students - calendar, etc... > > I want to know when they have all the specials, ie: library, music, PE, > and art. > > I want to know when they typically have lunch. > > I'm trying to get a guage on a typical 3rd grade day to help me better > plan for 's IEP. > > His Special Education Teacher knows nothing, I asked already. > > Thanks - > Jayne > > > -- Sara - Life is a journey- we choose the path. Guest guest
I would contact the assistant principal and request to talk with a third grade teacher or get a schedule of their day. It's better to be transparent that way than to contact teachers directly. After all if you never ask you will never know, and new teachers come along all the time. I would hope that the third grade teachers also have the best interest if you need to be informed for your child. So many things I did not question in the past, I now do. Things tend to end up going smoother, for child, teachers, parents and everyone, if parents get invloved, and try to realize what happens to their child during the progression of the day. I have a gut feeling to ask and be diplomatic about it. I actually send group emails all the time. May be that one person in the group that makes it all work easier. Just my thoughts, Jean > > > > > > -- > Sara - Life is a journey- we choose the path. > > >
Guest guest
Good idea - there isn't a VP though. Do think calling the office and just asking my question? Or...email Principal? Thanks, Jayne > > I would contact the assistant principal and request to talk with a third grade teacher or get a schedule of their day. Guest guest
My feeling, although brash, is " Ask forgiveness, not permission. " I always get in trouble when I has for permission. I say do it and if they don't respond in a way that gets you what you want, ask a parent or go to the principal. What your asking for is not over the top, by any means.
