emailed Sproutpeople, they basically said it always smells, but recommended

laying it out in the sun (I did for 2 days). If it is on the clothesline I can

smell it from 6 feet away, and it is a very unpleasant smell, to me it smells

chemically like solvent. I tried washing a little piece with soap, but I used a

lot and could not even get it to foam.

Thanks Carolyn,

they were expensive enough, I'll try peroxide (and if it's working really nicely

I'll post it too)

Aerogarden that they may have to be washed before in water and with some

peroxide and rinse very well.  Wonder if the peroxide on the baby's blanket

would help after it is rinsed very well.  Might be worth a try before tossing

it all out.  I assume you are not using it more than once as it is smelly when

it arrives.  Good luck to you.
