Guest guest
No clue why bugs love me so, when they leave other around me alone. I always figured it is because I am so sweet! > > > > Well ants are greedy little creatures, and I don't like to eat after them. I thought the whole big bunch of little tiny bananas were so cute. And the big huge flower at the bottom of the bunch was somehow sexual looking. Was interesting. I'll have to get your email and send you a photo but I may have it on my back up drive instead of on here. I am glad I had them as it was very interesting. I guess I am a bit picky about what I eat though as I didn't like them in and on something I might eat. There were ants on the stalks. > >  > >  The park here is going to spray for them this year. I have to worry about my plants and to have them off the ground I guess.  And have to worry about the weed killer too that they are going to put down. I rent the lot I live on and mobile doesn't mean mobile when it is a home, especially an older one.  If we had to move, we'd lose it all as it can't be moved. But they are putting big expensive ones in here so shouldn't have to move unless we can sell. We bought cheaply and fix up different things every year to make it better for us. Planning next projects now. Can't physically do them but find someone who can and do a bit every year. It is bathroom floor this summer and topped off with tile, then getting up new wallpaper and a new wall cabinet. > >  > >  I have a major problem with the bugs biting me though. So I am not out in the yard a lot as they munch on me. Maybe if I ate better my blood wouldn't be so very sweet to them. It must also be near the surface. Even fruit flies like to munch on me I think. > > > > Carolyn Wilkerson > > > > > >  > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
HI. I just had to put my two cents in because of a conversation I had today on the bus with yet another person I struck up a conversation with. I had just come back from my first trip to a garden supply store (I'm making the video, it will be up later). So I'm standing at the bus stop and this lady is talking Italian next to me and being Italian, of course we all start talking to each other and she says " I cannot wait to get home and get off my feet they are killing me " . I look at her and say " You're diabetic right? " She says 'yeah, my feet hurt " . I said " How's you sugar? " She says " not bad, but I have lots of problems in my life and I'm going through a hard time " . I say " what do you eat? " She says: " Oh, I'm good, I'm also on Coumadin because of my heart but I watch what I eat, and my doctor says to not eat too much chicken because it will affect the coumadin " . I just looked at her. That was a new one for me. I said 'So what do you eat? " She said 'well, I don't really eat things I'm not supposed to eat, then she leaned in and whispered " Well, I do have my macaroni " . I said " you have WHAT??? " She says " Hey, I'm Italian, I'm not giving up my macaroni " . I said nothing. She then said: 'You know what my weakness is? " I said 'what? " She said " Bread " I said " You eat bread?? " She said " All day long " I said 'You eat bread all day long, and you're diabetic, now why on earth would you do that? " Her answer?? Hey, if I die, I die. I looked at her and for the first time I opened my mouth (I've heard this so many times but never responded. Today I responded. I said " Now why on earth would you say such a thing, what do you mean if you die, you die? " She looked at me and said " Well, I don't know what else to do? " MELODY HAD AN OPENING!!! I said " Why don't you do what I do? " (By the way, I thought she was over 70, she was 56). She said 'What do you do? " I said " I grow sprouts in my home, I grow broccoli, sunflower sprouts, radish, etc. " She goes " Oh, you have a backyard?? " I said 'No, in my kitchen " I then pulled out my Flip, pressed play and there she was (and everybody else at the bus stop), looking at my kitchen sprouting shelf and my new greening up stand. They were going ooooohhh and aaaaaah, " look she grows her food " . Then they all got on the bus to go home and eat their bread and macaroni. I do believe than only CERTAIN people who want to change WILL change. lol Mel

Guest guest
Don't get discouraged. Sometimes it takes a lot of time to absorb some things and habits even longer. Have to do it 7 times to get a habit or something like that.  Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, March 26, 2012 4:19 PM Subject: Re: OT - Hungry for Change  HI. Guest guest
Thanks for sharing this conversation, Melody. You certainly did all you could to educate and advise her. It's startling that she looks 70+ at only age 56. That alone is a testament to the bad lifestyle she has and inasmuch as no one would want it to happen, it's quite likely this lifestyle will (if it hasn't already) shorten her life significantly. As we'd discussed before, people will change when they are motivated to do so, beyond that we can only sow the seeds of information and hope they 'sprout' at some point in their minds and then in their lives. BTW, I have to say, I love the way you can recount a complete conversation! I'm telling you - get busy on that book!! If I remember correctly, I gave you some working titles already, LOL! You can use EW as a technical advisor and you can tell the tale! Guest guest
I have this peculiar gift. I can remember every conversation (almost word for word)I have had. When I quote back to my husband a conversation we had 30 years ago he usually throws up his hands and goes " OMG, there she goes again, don't you ever forget anything?? " And I can relate WORD FOR WORD the Star Trek episodes I've seen. I was once watching Star Trek and I said to the person sitting next to me, " Watch, I'll say the dialogue as it's being said " . She said 'Get outta here, no way " Way!!! lol Melody > > I'd love to be your advisor. Did I ever tell you that I was an English Major in college? > ew > > Re: OT - Hungry for Change > > HI.
