Guest guest
One thing that helps is to rinse more often. But the best is: Learn to love 'em. My wife just complained to me this morning about mine. So I pulled a few out of the sprouter and ate them in front of her. ew The SMELL of broccoli sprouts as they are sprouting..... whew!!! I have noticed something. When I have a mixture, it's not so bad. But when I do MORE broccoli seeds than the others, man, when I get a whiff of the round green tray, well it seems like they are spoiled but no, they sprout just fine. So what can we do (if anything) about the odor of broccoli sprouts. I know it's the sulphoraphane, right? Mel
Guest guest
WEll!!!! This morning (and these were in my cooler), I took out all the trays with covers, and most were just fine, but the ones with the most broccoli were BAD. Had to toss them. I think I have to re-think my mixing ratio. I have no idea what happened. I treat them all the same. Rinse and drain (every 12 hours) if in the cooler, and much more frequently if on my counter-top (with an ice pack on top). When I took the trays out of the cooler, the broccoli smell hit me between the eyes. I said UH OH!!! Sure enough, there were two bad trays. I don't get it but then I learn something NEW every day about broccoli sprouts. lol Melody > > One thing that helps is to rinse more often. But the best is: Learn to love 'em. Guest guest
I haven't mixed them with anything...maybe that is why I haven't had any bad experiences? I am also blessed with the dry desert air and a good evaporative cooler. Certainly the broccoli sprouts are a little stronger than others, but so far (knocking on wood) nothing offensive. Guest guest
Melody - were these broccoli seeds from the new 2.5# bag you recently purchased, or from an older supply? I haven't opened my 2.5# bag yet as I still have some old Sprout House seeds. dona > > > > One thing that helps is to rinse more often. But the best is: Learn to love 'em. Guest guest
This only happened when i used too much broccoli in the mix. I have been using the new broccoli seeds for weeks now with no problem. I think i know now what to do. Melody > > > > > > One thing that helps is to rinse more often. But the best is: Learn to love 'em. My wife just complained to me this morning about mine.
