Guest guest
, A salad made of 100% sprouts would be nutrious, but not very filling. You can add other healthy things in. Such as spinach, lettuces, sprouted sunflower seeds (hulled, soaked for two days, try jicama - it has a seeet wonderfull taste. ew Re: Salad Spouts? LOL me and my fat fingers LOL 100% sprouts. Guest guest
I love jicima cold slaw. I had it in Mexico and loved it. I don't know how to make it but I guess I could give it a shot. I am notsure what it had with it, but my guess woudl be carrots would go well. Maybe a little bit of cabbage chopped as well. Mayo and maybe a bit of something sweet. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Sunday, May 20, 2012 1:08 AM Subject: Re: Re: Salad Spouts?  , A salad made of 100% sprouts would be nutrious, but not very filling. Guest guest
Red and white cabbage, diced celery. shredded carrots, shredded jicama, raisins and canned crushed pineapple as a sweetener. You'll need to add very little mayo. ew Re: Salad Spouts? LOL me and my fat fingers LOL 100% sprouts. Guest guest
, I have a very simple recipe for you: just take whatever sprouts you have and put salad dressing on them. Voila! Sprout salad! You can make several different types of sprouts, grow larger seeds separate from small ones, and mix them together for your salad. Sprout salads are simple - it's whatever you want it to be. But I like to add a bit of finely chopped tomato and bell pepper and cucumber if I have them around. Again, no written recipe, I just wing it. Guest guest
. Since my diet consists of 75% sprout salads, (lol), I made a video some time ago showing what I add to my salads. Look at the colors, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dd3SVoIiKRs Melody > > Hi, > > I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a salad that used 100% and what is is you used? Guest guest
Thanks really didn't think about that part. I was mostly trying to find a way to make our food budget stretch with both of us on disability not must to go around. But lettuces aren't too bad so we'll try that. Thanks. ) > > > > > > Hi, > > > > > > I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a salad that used 100% and what is is you used? Guest guest
There is something called a phytopod out of Oakland, CA and it is a burlap sack inside a wire container and it has wood around the outside in some areas. Just have to cut holes in the burlap and put plants in it. The large one is $143 or thereabouts and it will allow 80 plants in the sides and on the top. It holds same as 4 x 5 space I think it said. It has a PVC looking tube down into it where water goes. I have been trying to find out more but it looks really interesting. It can be put on a balcony or deck or in the yard. I saw it on a garden show you tube. It is under vertical gardening. I was checking to see what a replacement burlap bag would be in the cost.  I did get a note back from them and they said the replacement bags would be available if one was needed. I am not sure if there is a base with water or if the water goes down the pole and has holes to let out water but if it goes somewhere, it must just drain out. It was an interesting concept and for the amount of produce, it was reasonable. Can grow spinach, heads of lettuce tomatoes, about anything. You might want to check on something like that as it has water going to it and many spaces. it is not beautiful but it gets mostly covered with plants. Try looking up Phyto pod or phytopod and also vertical gardening. Carolyn Wilkerson  To: sproutpeople Sent: Monday, May 21, 2012 9:51 PM Subject: Re: Salad Spouts?  Well called and all of the plots are taken.
