has never passed the hearing screens, wait, she did once, after

5 years, but this year, again she failed, did not respond to any noise

in the booth and it was killing my ears. SO, we saw the ENT, he wants

to repeat the ABR and put tubes back in. We're concerned that she has

hearing loss now. The first ABR, probably 3 years ago, showed she

could hear as low as leaves rustling, but not sure now. Does hearing

loss come up gradually, all of a sudden, how is it with out kids. If

she needed hearing aids, oh, Lord help me. She cannot even have the

EEG done without arm immobilizers and even brushing her hair is a

battle, she pulls it out. But, just curious on others experiences.

Thanks,

My son cannot hear without tubes....never passes a screen without them in.

The ASD does make the testing harder, though.

I am just back today from 's second ear tube insertion. He has failed tests

but we aren't sure, either. He has lots of fluid, so we will retest in about a

month.

Just an idea on the hairbrush situation. Jake hates getting his hair brushed

with a spiky type brush, like most brushes on the market right now. We bought

an old fashioned mens brush with the hairy bristles and he has no problem with

it. He even does it himself sometimes.

Elie hates brushing his hair, but doesn't mind if I do it. He can't stand

the feel of his hand and the brush on his head. I think the vibration in

the hand is too much . Same issue with a razor - electric. I can do it,

but he hates to try.
