Welcome to the group!

I have hip dysplasia/joint degeneration also.  I had one hip replaced 9 years

ago at the age 38.  The surgery was a huge relief and the pain was

completely gone for several years.  I just started getting pain in it again the

last couple of years.  The second hip is degenerating and will also have

to be replaced at some time.  I get steroid injections in both hips & back to

control the pain.  I'm not as active any longer, so the second hip is

degenerating slower than the first one did when I was out line dancing several

times a week for a decade!  My pivot leg had a lot more wear-and-tear. 

Ironically, my grandmother, who also had CMT, had both of her hips replaced at

the age of 38. 

My doctors had no idea why my hips were degenerating, until my family received

our CMT diagnosis four years ago.  Then it all made sense.Â

about your positive strategies in managing CMT.
