Guest guest
Hey, Margaret! Actually, Tori is only taking her Risperdal since March. I think we decided to just keep her on that for now, since her overall behaviors and moods have improved so much being off all the other meds. I have them handy, just in case, but would like not to have to go back again. The flapping, and that are not as destructive or disruptive to her daily living...and we are so used to them. Liz Liz Hi, Everyone....Liz.....Has Tori tried the Lexapro for OCD? Why don't you ask the doc to switch the Prozac to Lexapro.....5 or 10 mg to start. It's just an idea but may work better than the R & P combo. You can always go back to the Prozac if Lexapro doesn't work any better. It's easy to switch the SSRIs...just lower one while you gradually add the other. G's usually only takes a week to switch. Take care, Everyone. Margaret **************Gas prices getting you down? Guest guest
: Tori had been on Prozac, Depakote, and Risperdal for a few years. The first one she started on was Prozac...then we added Adderall which did nothing, then we switched to Risperdal and then added the Depakote. This cocktail of meds worked the best for her. Guest guest
Liz...........I hope you and Miss Tori have a wonderful time. I am sure you will both do quite well. There were many times I had to take mini vacations with the two boys by myself and drive long distances. We survived!!! Take care, Everyone. Margaret **************Gas prices getting you down? Guest guest
The Book Not Yet Written, by AnyOnesGuess Melatonin has worked wonders for us. My DH and I take it once in a while too. Tori still sleeps the same as she has always. Either with me or DH. She'll sleep fine as long as we don't get out of bed. Once we move, she is up. She has to be touching some part of us or else. I have tried everything, inc. a large Teddy with my tee-shirt and it still doesn't work! Liz Re: Liz MElatonin never worked for anyone in my house. Doesn't even make us sleepy! Tried 3 different kinds. But melatonin alatho it is plant based msut have side effects as well. We just don't have a pharmocopia that tells us what tose are. Looked in my natural medicine books but they don't give side effects for ANYTHING - not even St 's Wort or Valarian - both act as sedatives and St. 's Wort also as an antidepressent. But no side effects. HMMMM maybe that is a book yet to be written. > Hi, Everyone.....Liz....are you giving the Benadryl with the Melatonin? > Maybe that's the problem....it's like a double dose. Guest guest
Boy can I relate! The only nights I have slept without on top of me were when she was in the hospital and the two times my husband and I were able to get away for one night! I get her to sleep, crawl out from under her and escape to a couch or another bed and a little while later she finds me, then I scape. It's our " bedtime ritual " ! =} At least misery loves company! Guest guest
I am a mean *old* mother. I have not allowed any child to ever sleep in my bed. I have slept on a couch, sectional, chair next to many a bed. I have kids sleep on the floor next to my bed on a mattress, but NEVER EVER in my bed. Think what Super Nanny would DO> I understand why you have done what you did, but I would gladly help you thru the short term pain to freedom from bedtime tyranny. AND WRITE A LETTER TO SUPER NANNY! Bet she could help you. > Boy can I relate! Guest guest
Give me a call: I am not a SUPER NANNY, but I have raised 140 kids without a child in my bed. IT won't be pretty and it won't be nice, but at the end you will be free. > Sara: Would you??? Could you??? Please??? > > Liz > > Re: Re: Liz > > I am a mean *old* mother.
