I had the head of a DS clinic tell me that there was no dual dx . That my

son was just severely retarded! And that was after Elie took his otoscope,

figured out not only how to turn it on but how to take the batteries out of

it! Now he could have been severely retarded, but he still had ASD and one

thing had little to do with the other. IMHO.

Doctors who think this are maddening. 's nonverbal IQ scores are in the mild

MR to average intelligence range - but he clearly has autism, and he clearly has

DS. Grrr.

Hello,

We are off to the behavorial doctors tommrow.  This is our first meeting since

we are still without a dx.  I am hoping for answers tommrow before school starts

next week. Anyone with suggestions?

make a list of questions write it down and write down the answers in case it

gets overwhelming, Mics cardoligist told me that many yrs ago and it helps.
