Guest guest
Dawn, I hear you. I think that life is like this, whether or not you have a disability. There are the haves and have-nots. I just had to take a job that pays 16,000 less a year due to the limits of my disability. It was very frustrating to build up a career only to lose it in my 40s. And my husband has not gotten a raise in 7 years and his health insurance benefits have recently been reduced. Some people have family money or a spouse, who makes a 6 figure salary. I hear your frustration. I hate it when all of my friends say " Oh, I have a great massage therapist " or " You must go see my acupuncturist. " Sure. With what money? Just another reminder that I am living month to month. The only advise I can give is to find extra sources of income. I have started taking baby sitting jobs. If you babysit school-aged children, they usually do not need a very active person to care for them. This is how I am earning extra money, so I do not have to stress so much about making it month to month. I have a little padding to get me through. >
Guest guest
, I recently scored a job that pays well and allows me to work at home! Unfortunaltely it requires being on the computer for many hours a day and causing me much pain and pushing me past my limits. I have picked up a babysitting job and pay someone to do some of my document formatting that is the part that wastes my hands. I am very afraid of causing permanent damage. I am single with no rich relatives, dang it! So I understand the concerns of where do I go from here.... I had to get creative. Oh yes, babysitting is very creative for me. I have not really been around children in my life. I too am in my forties and have lost my ability to progress in my career that I have worked hard for in Las Vegas. Running around large hotels with soft (sand like) dizzying paterns of carpet dodgeing large crowds with the progression of my CMT is no longer possible, especially when they think you are the one that has been drinking because I walk squirrely and can't seem to stand out in the open with out looking for something to lean on! LOL.
Guest guest
Thank you and for your input. The worst part of it is that I have a B.S. degree and a lot of work experience. Well, I will think of some alternatives. Dawn > > , > > I recently scored a job that pays well and allows me to work at home!
