Guest guest
<<Those of you that have children on zoloft around the age of 9-12 what dosage are they on?? >> Hi, Everyone.........I went back through Gareth's med chart. He was put on Zoloft in '99....he would have been 10-11 ish. In his chart, I put that his aggression was increased, his fears of thunderstorms was increased, he couldn't handle lights/sunshine, his OCD was really bad, and his growling, echolalia, and anger was bad. All in all, not a good drug for him. Also......he had bronchial spasms/asthma on that med....one of the rare side affects. Sorry I can't remember the dosage, but his is why I stress that parents keep charts of all the meds they try on their kids. As for meds, I have finally been able to decrease G's Risperdal from 1 mg to ..50-.75 mg since he started on the Depakote/Topamax. I see no anger/aggressiveness/defiance.......yet!!! We had to wean him off the Depakote because he put on 25 #'s in 3 months....worse than the Risperdal!!! Now, he's on the Topamax and lost 5 lbs but isn't sleeping like he use to. He goes to bed after 10:00 (use to be 7-8:00) and is up at 6 am or before. I guess I have to decide if I want an overweight kid or a kid that doesn't sleep?!?!? Also.....it's back!!! That disgusting pilonidal cyst has returned. He hasn't had one in 4 yrs and he will have to have surgery this summer......the 8th time for this. The doc said he has to have a plastic surgeon reconstruct his back end because he can't handle more surgeries back there....it's all granulation tissue, not normal tissue. With the Connective tissue disease/Sclero his body isn't healing properly. It is not going to be easy. When we get a date, I will let you all know. Please keep him in your prayers. Take care, Everyone. Margaret **************Gas prices getting you down? Search AOL Autos for fuel-efficient used cars.
