Guest guest
Hi, Everyone....Vicki....my heart goes out to you on this 'med coaster ride.' I have learned in the past that too much of a good med can cause major behavioral changes. This is what it sounds like with the Prozac. My son has been on Risperdal since he was 10 due to aggressiveness/SIB/non-compliance/belligerence.....you name it. Horrible kid to live with back then. Another possibility for the med route is to go with Depakote.....not for seizures, but as a mood stabilizer. Since my kid has had these seizures and gone on the Depakote, we have been able to cut his Risperdal dose in half......first time in 10 yrs. What ever the med, start at the lowest possible dose and work up. Don't allow the doc to start her on what 'normal people' take because so many of us have found that our kids don't metabolize drugs like normal people. Also.....keep a chart of behaviors and how the drug affects those behaviors. Some examples would be: does speech increase or decrease with this med/dosage; is she happier or sadder with the med/dosage; is she more or less compliant; does she hurt (headache, stomachache, etc). Take care, Everyone. Margaret **************Get fantasy football with free live scoring. Sign up for FanHouse Fantasy Football today.
