Hi, Everyone.....That Savage guy's autism gig has been on CNN just about

every hour. He still isn't apologizing, though. I don't even know who he is

but

he sure is making 'waves'.....BIG ONES!!!

Vicki......one other thing that crossed my mind after your second letter.

You said that has had her thyroid removed for Graves disease. She

also has CD. Both of those are autoimmune diseases....the body attacking

itself. My son has an autoimmune disease and one of the things that is very

common is depression. The same antibodies that attack the body lower the

seratonin levels in the brain that can lead to depression. With the family

history

of bi-polar, your psych doc should also be made aware of the autoimmune

diseases that has. We tried Zoloft for Gareth for two months but it

caused asthma attacks. Please, remember though, that all of our kids are

different and what works for one child may not work for another. You may have

to

try several before you find the right 'fit' for ....that is one of

the reasons keeping a chart with the meds and dosages helps out.

As for Benadryl......Over 15 years ago, a ped doc told me to use it for

Gareth for sleep issues. We still use it today....just about every night. One

of the good things about Benadryl, is that DS kids have small nasal passages

and the Benadryl actually helps them with their nasal breathing at night. I

use it more for that than for sleeping issues.

Take care, Everyone.

Margaret
