Guest guest
Dear Wheels, I am not sure what makes me tired? Lack of conditioning or having to focus on where my body is in space constantly looking for an obsticle etc in my path so as not to fall.  I do know that the only thing that has been able to change my life regarding the level of fatigue i experience has been the use of AFO's. The change was dramatic and relativity fast. I don't wear my afo's much anymore but I am going to wear them more in order to be more active.    From: cdwheels3@... <cdwheels3@...> Subject: Do you find constantly concentrating on balance physically fatiging? Date: Saturday, January 23, 2010, 8:07 AM  I am finding myself very tired from constantly balancing and re-balancing all day long. I have osteo arthristis in my hip that stiffen when I sit for more than a half hour...so I'm more comfortable standing (leaning against a wall) or lying down. Are others experiencing similar fatigue? Thanks. wheels
Guest guest
Cylde, I think that having to concentrate & work so hard at tasks that others can do without thinking is certainly tiring. You're tense & stressed especially if you ever nearly fall like I do. You almost have a panic attack. I've injured myself from falls enough to constantly fear that. I finally started using my walker in the house...I was only using it when I go outside. I find I can move around the house much more quickly without worrying about falling & not feel so tense all the time. I get a lot more work done that way without as much fatigue.
