Guest guest
<<Anyways the real problem is the weird behavior at bedtime. She had seemed to develop some real anxiety about going to bed (I was thinking maybe the Prozac had made her have weird dreams, I heard it could) so I started laying down with her. Now everytime we go through the bedtime routine which goes fine, we lie down and she grabs my nose and gouges her nails into me.>> Hi, Everyone....Vicki.........this is an example used at the Autism conf....a child throwing fits at bedtime. She had GERD.......when was the last time your daughter saw a Gastro doctor? I can't believe she was up to 80 mg of Prozac......for a kid?!?!? Please r/o GERD.........if nothing else, try OTC Zantac or Pepsid (with her PCP approval) for a couple of weeks to see if behaviors improve. You can buy generic brands, too, if you don't have insurance. GERD is VERY common in DS kids because of their low muscle tone.....which doesn't just affect their arms and legs, but also their internal organ support. Take care, Everyone.
