Guest guest
Hi, I'm trying to get info for a friend that had breast implants 3 months ago. Everything was fine until a month ago. She started to get a sore in the crease of her breast. PS says he might have left a stich in and she is having a reaction. Its an open wound, PS put her on meds but its getting worse. I have been everywhere on the net trying to get info. She wants to get all the info she can.If anyone has any info PLEASE E-mail me @ tinym109@... Thanks
Guest guest
Hmmm.....this doesn't sound too good! Does the wound look like it has some blackened tissue around it anywhere? Is it growing in size? I guess I would be concerned about necrosis, but I am sure the PS would recognize this if he saw it. Beyond that, perhaps there is some sort of bacterial infection growing there unchecked, but I would think the meds would help. Dr. Kolb, I know it is hard to say anything about it, but do you have any helpful thoughts here? Guest guest
Patty: I would have to gather more information on this prior to suggesting a treatment. She may call me if she likes. 770-457-4677. We have done approximately ten explants under local with sedation and although they are more difficult, they can be done in some patients. I have had patients who had such severe nerve damage that they were in wheelchairs and not candidates for general and now they are walking. . ----- Original Message ----- From: Patty <fdp@...> < > Sent: Sunday, January 06, 2002 12:20 AM Subject: Re: Hole in crease, size of quarter > Hmmm.....this doesn't sound too good! > > Does the wound look like it has some blackened tissue around it anywhere? > Is it growing in size? > > I guess I would be concerned about necrosis, but I am sure the PS would > recognize this if he saw it. Guest guest
It sounds like spitting of a stitch which I also had but then it sounds like it got worse, I would be concerned if, like Patty said it were to get black and infected with necrosis, but I am hoping your friend is aware that she could possibly be reacting to the implant and it may need to come out. I know a lady who had a similar problem and got an infection and once infection sets in in implants it becomes very very hard to treat, usually treatment involves removal of the implant for several months until it clears up, however antibiotics I would assume are being used now, again keep us posted, Love, ----- Original Message ----- From: " tinym109 " <tinym109@...> < > Sent: Saturday, January 05, 2002 8:06 PM Subject: Hole in crease, size of quarter > Hi, I'm trying to get info for a friend that had breast implants 3 > months ago. Guest guest
Dear Dr. Kolb, Are you able to use local anesthesia with sedation when the implant is under the muscle?
