Billed as a personal mobility device, the experimental U3-X by Honda, seems to

have real potential as an improved scooter or even wheel chair. Downsides are

that the battery only lasts an hour and the electric motors are noisy, but the

ride reportedly feels like floating on air and steering is as easy as leaning in

the direction you want to go:

A Segway you can sit on and carry with one hand. Not available anytime soon but

Hm... it looks cool, and I really like cool aids, but how practical is it? I

just returned from a holiday and I walked for hours each day, the problem for

me is not walking on a straight pavement but my problems are: stairs (I like

medieval castles, and they have lots of stairs), uneval ground, slopes... The

Honda may carry me on a nice pavement in Tokyo, but it is not were I am going...
