Guest guest
May 17 - 21 is Peripherial Neuropathy Week! 2010 marks the 6th year that Peripheral Neuropathy Awareness is placed on the Federal Calendar of Health Observances. This includes Charcot Marie Tooth neuromuscular syndrome. This is so that we all can alert the public to ensure diagnosis, raise awareness and call attention to the need for more research, treatment and final arrestment. What you can do: 1. Mark your calenders now for the Neuropathy Summitt Dec 3-5 2010 to be held in Washington D.C. for all doctors, researchers, patients, caregivers interested in peripheral neuropathy and it's effects. 2. Urge your Senator to support the Pro - Neurology amendment to the patient protection and affordable care Act (H.R. 3590) passed by the US Senate 12/24/09 (Sample letter in our Files section titled " Neurology Amendment " ) 3. Participate in the Willows Challenge for CMT and STAR /message/55687 4. Start a CMT Support Group 5. Join a CMT Support Group 6. Shop online at iGive and support the Charcot Marie Tooth Association. 7. Talk to 5 new people this week about CMT and how it affects you or your loved ones. 8. Be part of the solution, consider gifting $5.00 or more to eradicate CMT from our world. 9. Follow me on Facebook for more ideas throughout the week. Watch how Peripheral Neuropathy and the Empire State Building come together! Gretchen
