Guest guest
e and others, In the past I said I would look for natural ways of pain relief, and wanted to share with you a paragraph from "the Gerson Therapy". It says, " Caffeine taken rectally stimulates liver's action, increases bile flow, and opens bile ducts so that one's liver can excrete the toxic products of metabolic improvement more easily. Coffee enemas are excellent for preventative medicine as well as for treatment. They also bring about remarkable pain relief." We have discussed coffee enemas many times on this list, and the directions for doing this are in the files section on Healing Therapies. If you have not yet tried this form of therapy, I highly encourage you to do so. I know it sounds dumb. I thought so when my naturopath first told me to do coffee enemas. I thought he was off his rocker. That was until I found out more about it, and became more educated. I made the mistake of being biased against something without having the knowledge to back up my position. I found out I shouldn't do that anymore! God bless....hope some of you with major pain issues will try this and let us know how you feel after a fair trial of this therapy. From: " Gammill " <vgammill@...> > With an aggressive alternative therapy the pain usually resides in a few days. > ....DLPA or high dose menadione. 75% of the time it works as well as morphine Do you know of any over-the-counter/nonprescription supplements or alt. therapies that help w/severe cancer pain? Guest guest
> Below are the natural supplements I've read alleviate cancer pain. > Anything I might add to or delete from the list? Hi Leonard, add the following empirically determined helpful recipes: cayenne-lemon drink (in hot water, and very strong, with enough cayenne to make it almost on the " impossible " side but still possible to sip, with great caution. This will require some experimenting.) I used to mix it and hold the cup in one hand and the doctor's prescription for prednisone in another and tell the person suffering from pain, " if you drink it and in twenty minutes it doesn't help, I'm going to fill in this prescription. " I had to do it many times. I still have the prescription. Tai chi or chi kung (aka taiji or qigong) -- not only relieve the pain but lower the fever within fifteen to thirty minutes, sometimes up to two degrees, in our experience. LBG was very efficient the first two or three times, then the effects gradually tapered off. Most of the remedies on your list, with a few exceptions (a few of those we didn't try) didn't work for us (during an inflammatory phase of Hodgkin's disease that is; some or many of them might work better in other situations though). Best wishes, Elena
