Guest guest
Billie, You've asked for advice, and here is mine, meant in the most loving way. Give your daughter the information you have gathered and give her your opinion, and then let it go. If she wants to have a baby, knowing that it might not be the best thing for her health, that is a choice she gets to make. I know as mothers we never stop trying to protect our children, but it is their life to lead, and our job is to guide them with the best of our ability and then love them unconditionally. (also a mom with grown children)
Guest guest
Hi Billie, Quest magazine (through the Muscular Dystrophy Association) just put out an article on pregnancy and childbirth with neuromuscular disease. I found it very informative and fascinating to read. I do not plan on having kids but found it very informative for what I might have to deal with if I did decide to have kids. Maybe you could give this article to your daughter as a way for her to be informed of the good and the bad with pregnancy and childbirth. Then she can choose for herself if she is ok with it. Here is the website link to that article. http://quest.mda.org/sites/default/files/Quest_17-3_Pregnancy_Series_revised ..pdf Take care, Cheryl Sherman in Sacramento, CA CMT 1B
