Guest guest
Group, Let's not think this is more complex than it is. Ask yourself " why " there is a lack of compliance. The answer is most always; Its not important to the person. What needs to be answered is not how we make it important to the person, but how do we facilitate the person so they make it important to them-self. This builds ownership and accountability. As a business and sales coach (Was a physiologist and dietitian in a past life) I spend 90% of my day awakening tacit knowledge in people so they can identify clear goals, establish a plan and then meet their goals. Goals should follow a SMART format as well. If you " perscribe " an excercise or weight-loss plan to someone it is your plan not theirs. Think for a minute. How willing are you to do something you are told to do? However, if you create your own destiny with the aid of facilitator where does your ownership sit? I hope this gets you all thinking. -Victor Latona MS, MA, MBA Colorado Springs, CO Subject: Re: Changing Behaviors To: Supertraining Date: Tuesday, December 9, 2008, 12:00 PM Isolated initiatives focussing on the individual will be futile in changing behaviours. Changing behaviour is a complex process and is a concern for work places, communities and families. All of these influence the environment / settings in which individual behaviour occurs. Consequently, a multifactoral / integrated approach is required to reach an optimal outcome. Carruthers Wakefield, UK > > >> > > >> : > > >> > > >> Thanks for the clarification.
