Guest guest
oan, I havefound AFO Socks at Professional Fit Clothing, www.professionalfit.com. The socks are $8.00 a pair and are great. I wear them to the flea market and they really keep my feet dry and comfortable.  . From: JoAnn <jumpins6@...> Subject: AFO Liners Date: Sunday, July 11, 2010, 7:59 AM  About a year or so ago, someone posted about afo liners. I googled " afo liners " and came up with this: http://www.afoliner.com/store/index.html Last year when I checked it out, I remember that you could order them online. Now they have removed this option. They want you to go to your orthotist to order them. I'm sure they're more expensive now. AND I live in Canada (originally from NJ) and they have no providers here. I have e-mailed the company, but meanwhile I am very disappointed. I am tired of putting knee highs over my afo -- the new velcro I put on my braces doesn't stick very well with nylon over them. And I have to replace the knee highs almost everyday. Sorry for ranting. I am very disappointed. I am hoping one of you will have another solution for me. TIA! Guest guest
Hi JoAnn I found this when I reading a blog about AFO's in the summer. It might be worth a go if you can't find anything in the US/Canada. I think these work out around $20. http://www.chaneco.co.uk/products.php?product_id=319 Regards Fiona Glasgow Scotland
Guest guest
Before being sprung from having to use an AFO, I used two types of liners -- one essentially free, and one the cost of a pair of Over-the calf sport socks. The free liner came from my wife's damaged pantyhose. I cut the foot off and cut the leg free somewhat south of the panty. In the beginning I made several errors by cutting them too short as the length really shrunk when I pulled them over my larger-than-my-wife's leg. I made them long enough to leave a 2-3 inch cuff at the top to fold over the AFO to anchor it. After succumbing to runs from losing battles with Velcro I cut another. The liners were washable in a washing machine in the same ditty bag ym wife used for hers. The over-the-calf sport sock uses the same surgery, but I advise washing the socks a couple of times before cutting as they may shrink. I tried the socks thinking they would be more comfortable in the summer, but I found that the nylon liners were comfortable year round. Guest guest
Hi Fiona! Thanks for the link. They are the exact liner I tried to buy online. Take care!
