Guest guest
Hi everyone, I went to see Ian yesterday. While I was driving out, I got a phone call from one of his aides, telling me he was sick and did I want to cancel the visit? Now, what kind of mother would I be if I did that? He was expecting me, and he was sick! Of course I wanted to continue! So instead of going on the shopping trip we usually do when I visit, we stayed in his room, with him lying down in bed, and we watched Lassie Come Home, the old movie with Roddy MacDowell and . It was a lovely movie -- real hokey -- and we both enjoyed it. I had never seen it before. I stayed till dinnertime and was about to leave when the house managed said, Ian set the table for you to stay and eat with us. So I stayed. How could I not? Next time I see him will be to retrieve him for Thanksgiving. Meanwhile, I got news on Friday that I will be needing knee surgery sometime soon. I have to see an orthopedic surgeon first, and I hope that will be soon so I can get this all behind me. It's terribly inconvenient.
