Guest guest
Hi Joanna Great to see you again and sorry to hear things have been tough on you. With regards to insoles I would imagine that the facilities in London aren't greatly different from Glasgow - its the same NHS after all. First go to your GP and enquire if they have a bio mechanics clinic in their Trust area. In Glasgow there's one in one of the local health centres or alternatively there should be one in one of the big hospitals that have a neurology dept. These people do many things one of which is make a cast of your foot to create insoles from. I had this done a few years back while my gait was still quite good (all things considered). Before they do that they might assess your gait to see if there's any alternative options you/they could explore. With regards to your shoes; it depends on the shape of your feet but try DB shoes http://www.dbshoes.co.uk/ I've also added a link to a company in Glasgow that supply shoes to the orthotists and podiadrists at the Southern Gerneral where I go to try and give you an idea what might be on offer. http://www.buchananorthotics.co.uk/index.html None of these things are especially pretty but .... what can I say! If you have to pay for your care it might hurt the pocket a bit but if you dont then hopefully your local GP can set the ball rolling. If you've already been down this road before sorry but I hope it helps a little. Regards Fiona in Glasgow Scotland
Guest guest
Dear Fiona I would like to thank you very much for your help. Yes, I will have a look at your links indeed I have a very small feet ... I believe must be 2 here in UK and 33 or 34 in Brazil ... In fact I never bought shoes here in UK for all those 30 years here. I had a shooemaker for many years in Brasil, he was amazing craftsman but died few years ago. I also had another new insole made recently but I need to find another pair of shoes to try it on With this new insole we need a much bigger pair of shoes! Also, I will see if I can find a bio mechanics clinic near home too! Thank you again and have a lovely weekend Fiona Best Wishes Hugs Joana Ps: something very funny happened ... before I used to have a great arch, had a pe cavus, and now my feet became really Flat... So, when I am walking I feel that my feet gets inwards ... very odd this :=( :: > > Hi Joanna > > Great to see you again and sorry to hear things have been tough on you. > > With regards to insoles I would imagine that the facilities in London aren't greatly different from Glasgow - its the same NHS after all. > > First go to your GP and enquire if they have a bio mechanics clinic in their Trust area.
