Guest guest
Joann, Regarding mediation, my life coach has an interesting insight. He is a martial arts master and is well versed in Eastern philosophies. He maintains that the problem with Westerners trying to meditate is that we are told to clear our minds or turn them off, but that is impossible. The idea is to recognize a thought when it comes up, acknowledge it, and shrug it off. The more we focus on what we don't want, ie: the thoughts, the more we get it. I have found the most success in meditation while walking, swimming, and sitting out under the full moon. Now I just need to do that more often! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
