Guest guest
Thanks for sharing, Sara. It is true that a few seconds of changing a topic line does help. It will not always highlight something that may be of interest to a person, but it does help. Regarding conference calls, web meetings, and webinars. I understand that not everyone enjoys the internet for communicating and education. However, from a program point-of-view, it is a powerful way of gathering people all together to glean information or to teach. It's not different from a " chat room " concept, it is just visually and auditorily more rich. When mining for informatoni and stories, the beauty of these tools can be the documentation they provide so that facts are reliable. Most meeting tools allow recording if desired. FreeConferenceCall.com (I think that's it) offers a transcription service of the conference call for a fee. If I were planning programming, I would want that documentation to keep myself accurate, know who to ask for permission for use or for further information, and so on. It's good to know what one can and cannot tolerate. I've almost completed my M.Ed completely by distance from the University of Massachusetts. I " ll be done this spring or summer. (two more classes). And I've found it a very rich learning experience. For those who are interested there are free tools out there, though they are often more difficult to manage the technology for. In no way did I mean to suggest that webinars or web meetings can replace this medium. It cannot. The 1-1 coaching provided on our list is priceless. It can, however, add another dimension for those who are interested. FWIW, Joan
