Guest guest
I don't think antibiotics will cover anything on Ashton...Since we started doing the clindimycin roll on almost a week ago she is WORSE on the outside of her skin.. The the abcess under her arm is EXPLODING...makes me wanna pop it with a safety pin like my gramma used to do to the blisters on her feet lol....... She is in sooooo much pain... Hemorroids with the two abcess on buttcrack/cheeks... So farrrrrrrr I don't see any improvement since we went to the socalled specialist.... My crazy aunt suggested putting " horse salve " on her.. she swears it works wonders on the skin and they used it on the work horses when she was growing up and she used it on her self.. She is diabetic and has lots of wounds....... I might actually try it, what would it hurt? Who was asking about the RASH around mouth........we used to put prep. H yes the hemmorid cream on Ashton's face and I used it on acne...stuff actually works...... least for us........I AM NOT A DOCTOR...LOL Margaret, I am soooooo sorry to hear about Gareth.... ugggg if I had to be on house arrest with /Ash we would be sleeping in a car cuz I gotta work....... when I get frustrated and pissed at the world I just imagine how much pain ash is in and Gareth.... bless them..... life is not fair that is for sure...... Can he get into a whirlpool? or hot tub?? the doctor told me the more chlorine the kids is around the better...... I asked if i was supposed to bath her in bleach.....one of the grannie nurses I know says she baths in a capful of bleach a week to cleanse her skin......AGAIN i AM NOT A DOC... okay off my soapbox..... going to roll on the antibiotic and watch out for her flying feet......she hates it on her legs............ Subject: Re: Beth To: Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 10:10 PM Ooh, I'm so sorry to hear that. 's cellulitis cleared on antibiotics. He's had it before several times. Gareth is having way too many issues. I've been through all that when had leukemia. Fortunately, he seems to be recovering from his adventures other than persistent fatigue. No, I don't think has ever had vitamin D checked, though he has had a slew of bloodwork in his almost 9 years. Praying Gareth is healing and doing better soon! Beth Beth <<cellulitis >> Hi, Everyone.... Beth...well, that is 3 of our kids fighting cellulitis.. ...Gareth, , and . Ashton has something weird and infectious, too. I had never known anyone with it till G got it a month ago. Now, the first has reopened and the one on his leg has healed. No one tested him for that SARS, but I think that is what it is. Doc won't say " yes or no. " I was told the first couldn't be cultured because he was on antibiotics. He's still got that open wound from July, too. Well, Gareth and I made the two hr trip to Hershey Med today, in the pouring rain, for his open wound....un healing pilonidal cyst surgery. He was hurting so bad, when we left, that he tried to lay in the van on his side. That lasted 20 minutes till he brought up breakfast... ..car sick. Had to pull over and clean that up.....fun, fun!!! So he sat up and looked straight ahead the rest of the trip......shifting and wiggling in pain. The doc decided to give him '30 days of house arrest' (Mom's description) with only laying or standing. If the open wound isn't healed by Jan 7th, he will go back and re excise the wound and we will start all over again. On Fri, he has to have a CT of the pelvis to see if he has an underlying abscess that could be causing the pain. He sure isn't getting too much out of school this fall. Tomorrow, he goes to see the gastro doc.....hopefully, he will let him slide on the endoscopy since his switch to Prilosec seems to be working. His rheumie doc did loads of blood work and his IgA is really high....probably another ulcer. His Vit D is low......any other kids have their Vit D levels checked? Seems to be the 'in test' lately. Take care, Everyone. Margaret ************ **Make your life easier with all your friends, email, and favorite sites in one place. Try it now. Guest guest
Margaret, My thoughts are with Gareth as I know what it feels like to have a big hole where there shouldn't be one. After being diagnosed with Advanced Lymes in 2005 I had to have a similar procedure done on a deep lesion that was going into the back of my calf..into the muscle. The first episode didn't close it but was very painful...then they used Silverdine to close it and that really burned bad. I still get lesions and have one on my big toe right now - not fun at all. Both my son and I have a positive Lyme Titer and Western Blot, his was caught right away and after the antibiotic treatment for 90 days his Titer has gone down to only a +1. I cant even Imagine what Gareth must be going through because that was very painful for me and I normally can handle alot of pain. Lymes is the 'great pretender' and it likes to come back and do all kinds of things now and then. I constantly have to go on and off antibiotics to stop it when it decides to break out. I sure hope that Gareth is feeling better soon and pray that the Only True Healer will breathe upon him and heal him. I pray for ashton too for she needs the Great Comforter to be with her..the same goes for and ..may they all be touched by our Lord and be healed from head to toe. And for you mothers - you are a Godsend to these children, he only gave you what you could handle and it seems as if you are handling it well. I just continue to do the 'Concerned Dad Thing' regardless of whats breaking out or growing on me but it really touches my heart to see the dedication of you mothers. I know it must be hard to see your child hurt. Yesterday was the first time I've ever really 'freaked out' .. I ended up with a prescription of Valium, my Doc was afraid of a breakthrough seizure because I was and still am pretty p'o'd at his district. I take other front line non narcotic seizure meds but I think after talking to him he decided things weren't processing right so he called me back and told me he called in that prescription. I don't like to take meds like that because they are so addictive, I used to be on so many meds it would choke a horse. I quit them myself cold turkey a few years back - so I'll use that valium very sparingly. Again, my hat is off to you mothers..all of you on this list. You have created a warm and friendly environment that actually soothes me to visit. And to the other Dad's .. stick in there ! May the blessings of God and his favour be upon our children and their parents, E. > > From: B DeHoff bdehoff@... > Subject: Re: Beth > To: > Date: Wednesday, December 10, 2008, 10:10 PM > > > > > > > Ooh, I'm so sorry to hear that. Guest guest
Leah,Your Aunts not crazy. Yes the old Dr.'s used to suggest horse salve. My uncle had a wound that would not heal and this old Dr. put it on his leg that was injuried in a car accident and his leg healed. What about soaking in epsom salt to draw the infection out? That helps to pull out infection? I took to a wound care specialist who did absolutely nothing, a Dermatologist that tried, and the only one that got healed was a Defeat Autism Now Doc. We did 40 hyperbaric oxygen Therapies to heal horrible cellulitis of the head.I feel so sorry for Ashton having these sores. Ouch.
