Guest guest
Irma, What a wonderful brag moment, and early present!!! Nina My date with Master Stevo, such a precious gift Forwarding my brag moment which I had just shared among other fellows, so sorry for the crosspost. I have to brag had a wonderful evening with my son. Despite the traffic which was bumper to bumper and the slick roads with sirens due to accidents in every direction as I drove out to the theater out at the Rim (local theater), from getting out of the house, out to the parking lot, then entering the theater into a long line for the Premier movie of " Bedtime Stories " as one of my sister invited us to join them. Normally I would of said " no, thank you " , for some reason told her " yes " . Guess I was ready to conquer this challenge once again since his set backs health wise we were unable to attend theaters as he once did in the past which took some work and then regress. To observe this was another mission accomplished, he waited nicely without any meltdown moments, no stress at my end. Sometimes securities would offer for us to go in early but no special treatments needed and I did forget to take some of his GF/CF snacks but all was well. As we enter inside the screen room, just awesome he was just like everyone cooperated in a nice manner and sat pretty cooperative/independently, all good sign, still no melt downs. He actually sat through the entire movie, very alert and even laughed on one occasion said " look " , to me to hear this was just incredible as he is nonvocal. I must say though I thought this movie was too cute, had me laughing too, actually able to sit through the entire movie and enjoy it,loving the moment as he did not have any meltdowns. Actually was able to tolerate his surroundings as he has been dx'd with severe sensory process disorder. I am still pinching myself we actually survived throughout the entire screening, we did not even have to wait until the credits was done as he once would have a fit. He got up when we all did and cooperated nicely out. It was such an incredible date to be with him as he held my arm watching over me. Plus he had also receive some compliments how well dressed he looked, such a GQ young men, he gave a little smile. All worth it with the alternative biomedical intervention he is under which could be time consuming learning anything involved here and to witness some social outing like this, just incredible that some of the behavioral issues decrease, do not want to jinx it as I just never know what kind of day I am going to tackle. Today, can be a struggle with some of his compulsiveness which has been a battle these past days but I'll take this excitement of the day for now. Guest guest
> > Irma, > > What a wonderful brag moment, and early present!!! > > Nina Thank you Nina. Today, he was doing well, then we went to get his dad at the airport this evening, he was doing good so far. My hubby noticed a sale on some Dumbbells so we decided to stop at a sport store, decided HE wanted to get off, looks good, ok. His dad found the dumbbells he wanted and bought them. Ho Ho, told him guess I'll place some Christmas bows. just laughed. was still doing well inside the store and actually indicate that he had to go the restroom which he does not do. This has been one of my goals for quite a long time. Once he was done, afterwards passing through some nice exercise equipments, I wanted to try one out, then actually joined me, which was nice because I would love to get him to also joined in, which was awesome. Then hubby wanted to go out and eat, figure why not? has been doing incredible. We went to a Texas Land & Cattle restaurant, hubby's choice, all was well but then half way through he had begun to rock, stim away then placed his hands over his ears and would not want to eat anymore. So we ask the waiter for our ticket and a to go box, sure enough once I wanted him to get up, he just sat on the corner, kept saying " no " , kinda of like you want to hide, leave me alone moment. Sure enough he had gotten pretty overstimulated, what a difference the loudness going on indeed. My poor son us torturing him with that loudness. It was nice to understand on what happen. It is proceeding with caution. Once we were out had to stop at an auto store as one of my headlights burned out, while his dad attended to it, we stayed in the van, he undid his seltbelt then reached over to give me a kiss. Told him " thank you " , he just gave me a smile. I wonder what was going through his mind? Ok, hubby is finally getting all settled down, time to watch a chic flic movie with me. LOL (Mama Mia) Next time that movie with the Mummy. Irma,20,DS/ASD
Guest guest
Irma, I am so glad you and had a very enjoyable time at the movies. He must have known that he and you needed time to laugh after all the stress of the past few months. I got a call from 's school and they told me lately how happy has been and how more attentive has been. We have added higher doses of his B-6 with mag and he has been such a pleasure at home with no melt downs or throwing himself in the floor. For us the biomedical has been the way to go. I am glad it is working you Master . What a piece of mind . Sincerely, Cyndi Burns > > Forwarding my brag moment which I had just shared among other fellows, > so sorry for the crosspost. > > I have to brag had a wonderful evening with my son. > Despite the traffic which was bumper to bumper and the slick roads > with sirens due to accidents in every direction as I drove out to the > theater out at the Rim (local theater), from getting out of the house, > out to the parking lot, then entering the theater into a long line for > the Premier movie of " Bedtime Stories " as one of my sister invited us > to join them. > Normally I would of said " no, thank you " , for some reason told her > " yes " . Guest guest
Thank you everyone, Joni, , Sara & Cyndi. Awesome gift and no special treatments, you know what I mean, not having to tweak it around whatever issue to address. It was just a typical moment indeed just like fitting in with everyone. Cyndi, guess the GABA has kicked in were it has helped with the calming affect. Wow, that is wonderful on 's update with his status, that is wonderful news at school too. These were the first signs when had stopped throwing himself on the floor that was mentioned at one of the ARD/IEP meetings during his High school years that they were very concerned about this and notice that he had stopped. Of course this was never brought up to my attention until that ARD meeting. Disclaimer to others reading this in regards to the alternative biomedical intervention route, our individuals are under medical physician's care but it has been a great journey for us, not to jinx it. Ok, have to go out and replenish some of 's dietary supplements as dummy here forgot the list on my last visit. Normally I would not mind letting it slide but this involves some Minerals which is a huge plus at this time so away I go to make sure he has enough in stock during the holiday season. Especially while some of his lab results are returning with some removal of the toxics which his system never flushed out in the past and definitely do not want any set backs as he is doing wonderful. Let's see what is in your Christmas stocking that our individuals will throw our way as has with our date. May it rub off in any form. I do know that it is such a rollercoaster ride, hurray today and tomorrow can be something else but other than that it just give some peace of relief for that precious moment. The gift of Hope.
