Leah, incredible article. Your circle of life experiences mentioned,

touched a little of every reality where it hits the nail on the head

on what could happen and it really does not matter which year as

history could repeat any at any time of year. You are the best

advocate to teach many teens.

It is ooh and ahh but then as babies required the steps to grow this

is when the real fun begin indeed. No one sees this side and of course

the possibility should a child be born with unique and challenging

needs or when dad's are out of the picture as honeymoon ends. Your

story really touched so much.

Congratulations a very good story, hopefully many teens have an

opportunity to read it. This needs to be posted at all Middle school &

high schools newsletter.

Sara and Irma,

Thank you both and your exactly right. Some of the teens have babies to have an

" object or possession " then reality hits in and OH MY GOODNESS....sleepness

nights, loud wailing screeches, unstoppable dirty pants, and someone who needs

attention 24/7..... then it's to late to go back and change....the baby is

here....no longer just " cute " but intensely demanding....

IF you don't mind, I would like to forward your article to the parenting

person for my agency?? We have several teens who could benefit from that

article - if it is read to them!!!!

By all means share away....... teens need to know the reality, but also need to

know they are not alone, they don't have to be a welfare statistic and you can

rise above....

I just now was able to read the article on you and Ashton. I love the picture

of you cradling her. Once your baby, always your baby, right?

You have come a long way! Ashton is not the only one lucky to have you in her
