Guest guest
Hi Everyone - Boy do I feel loved, awwwwww! Thanks guys! Irma - don't mind a bit - Thank you for taking care of that and getting info about us out. is doing great academically, as Irma shared, but starting to really exhibit some not so great behaviors. I guess you make gains only to have setbacks as well... He's unable to get outside very much right now due to the wonderful freezing cold Maine winter we are experiencing. I think when he doesn't get that outside time or exercise, he is more apt to have negative behaviors. Look out everyone in his path! They have been having a lot of indoor recess at school which I think is too much for - the noise, the chaos, the change in routine. The kids play board games, etc... and J has taken to turning over the game boards and getting a bit aggressive with some students. Thankfully the kids are very understanding but who knows how much they can take before they aren't so patient with him. We've decided to make a smaller group of kids for J to play with during indoor recess and see if that helps things not be so chaotic. Course we're off for the next two weeks so... At home he is not enjoying not being able to do what he wants to do when he wants to do it and has taken to hitting, pulling, kicking, yelling, screaming. He even peed deliberately on the toilet seat the other night after already trying to knock (our CSW) around! She was just trying to get him into the shower - something that he usually loves! I don't want to have " the bully child " . I don't know what's going on. I know he needs to get rid of pent up energy. I'm thinking it's time to join the YMCA and get swimming, running, etc... Back to the books I go.... Just when you think you are in a " good " place, you get too comfortable and then - boom! - Autism reminds you... " ahhh ahhh ahhh, not so fast - remember me?, I'm here to keep you guessing! " Now that's a BULLY! Damn autism! I'm a little worried as is off on vacation visiting family for the next two weeks. Already all he wants to do is watch tv and hump the ground! Tis the season! Good grief Charlie Brown! Course I've got so much to do to get ready for the Holiday (yikes - two days left....why do I do this to myself every year?!) So of course constructive activities aren't exactly happening right now. The big kids are trying to help but it's different than having one person who's sole job is to keep tabs on the man! On top of all that encompasses life with J, my Lupus is keeping me guessing as well. Thanks to my compromised immune system, I have picked up the crud, gotten over it, and then woke up with it again this morning. In between bouts of severe dizziness and feeling just yucky, I don't know. Good times! Then the best part???? We got 18 " of snow the other night and temps dropped into the negative digits and decided to freeze our main feeder pipe off the well and we were greeted with NO water yesterday when we woke up! That was not fun! It was an all day affair trying to get our water back. It's back now but my house is still trashed. We had to dig into several parts of our wall and rip out a kitchen cabinet to get at the pipes so now we look like a nice family with a hint of white trash amongst us! Mmmmmm - special! Thanks Santa! Thankfully was here so he and worked feverishly to make things better. Phew! Typically wouldn't be here when all H*LL breaks loose, that's the way it usually goes. Speaking of - off to Afghanistan he goes...Mid-January! Yes, for those of you paying attention, he left for Iraq LAST January and YES, he's been home for 5 1/2 months!!! The choices were either 15 months or 4 months so clearly we signed up for the 4 months! Not liking either choice but the thought of missing 's senior year does not appeal to any of us! So another winter of life without .... very thankful for my teenage son and now, our wonderful CSW! We'll survive! We always do right! I do hope to keep in better contact with you all after the Holidays. I read the digests when I can. And quite oddly, for someone who used to LIVE on the computer, I'm rarely on it these days. I do hope everyone is well. Leah so sorry to hear about the crash and also that Ashton is still struggling. UGH! So much for you. Laurie, great to see you back on the list - have thought of you so much and hoped that we'd hear back from you when you were up to it. Take care of yourself. To all the new folks, welcome to the best little family on the web. You have found an amazing and caring smart group of people who will drop everything to be there for you, give you the shirt (or dress) off their back - right Cyndi? - and do anything for anyone. They are awesome. Not to mention so full of information! Everyone else - miss you all tons and hope that each and everyone of you have a wonderful Holiday and that all of our kids can enjoy the Holidays too. For us, we host them here to make things easier for . And you know, I just can't get enough of cooking and cleaning so - it works out for all! Happy Holidays to all and to all a good night!
