For those of you following my posts and sending me suggestions I so much

appreciate here is an update. I brought Jake new sneakers (two pairs) and new

inserts. That helped!

Then we went to the physiatrist today. He checked out his feet and his walking

and we discussed his foot pain. He sent me down to the orthotist downstairs and

he molded him immediately for SMO's I think they are called. The are orthotics

that cover just above the

ankle. We also discussed seeing a orthopedist knowledgeable about CMT

about the possibility of surgery. We will try the orthotics and see how that

goes. Thanks everyone.

Sounds like a good conservative approach. Hope it goes well! The talk of surgery

on Zack is exactly the dynamite that pushed us off our butts and out to Detroit

for that first visit. Surgery was definitely not their recommendation on Zack,

but that could be different for everyone. I have not met or seen Dr. Diamond,

but hear all wonderful things from anyone who has.
