Guest guest
Liz, With the diet and the new added b/6 with mag i am considering taking off his Abilify. The B/6 seems to helping calming him. Risperidal was the first med took and for 2 yrs it was like a wonder drug and then right at 2 yrs it completely stopped working. The abilify has never worked for like the Risperidal. I am hoping that the B-6 continues and that the magic does not stop. Thanks for your input. Sincerely, Cyndi B > > Cyndi: I actually took her off everything except for the Risperdal back then because she seemed to be at an even keel. So far, so good and it will be a year in March. Not that I don't think we may have to go back to where we were, but right now...we are doing well. > > Liz > >
Guest guest
Liz, I will take him off by weining slowly. OCD can be caused by Strep. Have you had her PANDAS test done? Pandas will show strep.Strep will cause OCD behaviors. Thanks for all the helpful info and caring. Cyndi > > Cyndi: Please be careful taking off his meds. Now that I remember (God only knows how I can anymore) I did it when Tori got Mono a year ago in Sept. and was having a real issue taking the antibiotics. I could only get them into her, and at that point, we needed to clear it up..and said to hell with the other meds...I wasn't in the fighting mood. It seemed that she had stabilized well on them, and when I stopped them, there was no change in behaviors (except for the stimming) but without meds-and we were all very content with her behaviors. I kept her on the Risperdal because everyone on here yelled at me for yanking her off everything at once..so I stuck to what one I thought was doing the best for her...and here we are almost 1 year later just on the Risperdal!! And of course, her Synthroid, but that is it. She has done better in school where now they are actually teaching academics and don't have to concentrate on her behaviors. I know her OCDs have increased (especially gets really stuck on certain phrases) and the stimming..but otherwise we are ok. She has some rough days, but we muddle through them. > > Liz > >
